It’s called Surreal Science and is described “an off-the-rails salvage job, fashioned into a beautiful cinematic work of abstract sound and vision”. It features members and music of The Scientists and Kim Salmon and The Surrealists with three drummers, three guitarists, two bass players and two vocalists, drawing on a repertoire of 160 songs.They travelled to the other side of the globe, exploded and imploded, along the way paving the way for Seattle grunge, the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Dinosaur Junior, Spaceman 3 and scores of others….
The Surrealists took up the Scientists' cudgel and belligerently wielded it in their own image.
Surreal Science presents the story, not as a narrative but as an immersive, inside-out, backwards, upside-down, sensational experience.
