pretty

  • All eyes turn to Marrickville in Sydney’s inner-west on April 11 for the debut of Joeys Coop, a band whose ranks read like a who’s who of inner-Sydney underground (and overground) rock.

  • lost-coverAmid all the recent deification of a soul-less, vapid, posturing band like INXS and its execrable white bread music, the greatness of acts of a similar vintage goes sadly under-acknowledged. This re-tooled version of Died Pretty’s second album won’t bring them sainthood or riches in their dotage, but might remind you of what could, and should, have been.

  • nde-prettyWe'll start with the obvious. You need this one like you need underpants or shoes or food. Get it here. Buy "Pretty" for Christmas presents. Buy it for people you barely know. Send it to everyone in TV and Movie Land you can think of.

  • end was the beginningIt would be a pity if this release only hit the spot with Died Pretty fans and underground rock geek/collector scum historians because it’s deserving of better than that. The End was the first substantive band for Died Pretty guitarist Brett Myers and a handful of these songs (“Just Skin”, “This Reason”, “Through My Heart” and “Lost”) were later recorded by the latter group.
