Here's some more news on long-rumoured posthumous recordings from late Saints singer Chris Bailey.

In an Instagram post today, Church Street Studios engineer Sean Carey flagged that the recent digital single, “Break Away”, comes from a forthcoming album, “Long March Through the Jazz Age", It is the first release of new material since Bailey's passing in 2022.

Recorded by Sean Carey in Church Street Studios, Sydney, Bailey is on vocals, guitar and bass and is aided by long term drummer, Pete Wilkinson and guest Davey Lane (You Am I) on guitar.

There’s no word on album format or a release date. To coincide with the single release, all digital platforms have been updated and previously unavailable Saints music has been made available. These include albums such as “All Fools Day” (1986) and “Prodigal Son” (1988), which “Just Like Fire Would” and “Ghost Ships”.

Meanwhile in the parallel universe that is the November Australian tour by the Ed Kuepper-led The Saints '73-'78, two of the three Melbourne dates and one of the two Brisbane ones are sold-out and it won’t be long before the same House Full sign goes up at the other gigs. Grab your tickets here.  Now if only Kuepper, Ivor Hay, Mark Arm, Peter Oxley and Mick Harvey could book some studio time...
